Donations to Non-Profits

First Notes is honored to support the fundraising efforts of regional non-profit 501(c)3 organizations through the donation of gift certificates for classes and/or early childhood appropriate instruments and/or books. With a limited number of donations awarded per year, all donation requests are filled at the discretion of First Notes. While we would like to fulfill all requests, First Notes must limit the number of donations each year.

All non-profit 501(c)3 organizations are eligible. Private individuals are not eligible.

Eligibility Guidelines for Applying for a Donation

We are currently accepting donation requests from registered 501(c)3 charities for events occurring within the 2016 - 2017 school year (September – May). All requests must be received at least one month prior to your event.

Requesting a Donation

To make a donation request you must submit a request in writing, printed on the official letterhead of the group benefitting from the fundraiser or the group organizing the fundraiser.

The letter must briefly:

• Provide the name, description and date of the event.
• Describe the beneficiary of the event and how proceeds from the event will be used.
• Provide the organization’s 501(c)3 Tax ID number.
• Provide the name, daytime phone number and e-mail address of one specific contact person.
• Provide the mailing address and email address to which our reply should be sent.
• Be received at least one month prior to the event date.

Application Processing

Donation requests are filled approximately one month prior to the event date. All donations must be accepted as awarded and have no cash value. These are in-kind donations and are not for resale.  If we are able to contribute a donation, it is the responsibility of the contact person to pick up the donation at the Wilkins School Community Center at a mutually agreeable time.

Ineligible Requests

First Notes can only donate once per calendar to each non-profit organization. Please keep this in mind as your organization may have several events per year.

To guarantee that your request receives due consideration, please ensure that it meets all of the guidelines in the Application Process. Incomplete requests will not be considered.
